GAM Is Singing Your Tune

Have ye any Doubloons?
We don't mean to impugn,
But if your semester is a monsoon,
GAM is singing your tune.

Escape the platoons of goons
Stuck in their boring cocoons,
Aboard unsteady pontoons
Looking in the light of the moon like tired raccoons,
Carousing in the same ole saloons.

For shipmates here are the boons:
Golfing out of the dunes,
Swimming in blue lagoons,
Sleeping til the afternoons,
Surfing ahead of typhoons,
Eating prunes with two spoons,
Making animals with balloons,
Watching Saturday morning cartoons.

Step to the bow and grab your harpoons,
With GAMship ye fortunes are arriving Soon
Doubloons we be offering, and ye all be sure tycoons.

Gametta Stone: Cultural Festivity

GAM’s CCNY Chapter hosted their first event, GAMETTA STONE: CULTURAL FESTIVITY, on November 24th, 2010 in the Hoffman Lounge.

The event was a success as word of the event spread through posters and announcements. Many people walked in and sat down patiently for the event to start and others came walking in clueless of what the event was about. Everyone learned about the event’s purpose as well as how GAM a student club offers members opportunity to participate in contests which may lead to internships. There was free information, food, games, prizes, and networking.

The Francophone club came to show their support and gave a presentation to raise awareness of the French language and invite students to learn more. Indeed, GAMetta Stone welcomed all to share ideas, beliefs, culture and language mixing in this society that we have today. The Cultural Festivity concluded with the many interested participants speaking together with club members of possible future events and collaborations.

First Meeting of New Semester

Today was out first GAM meeting and GAM sponsored PE event. I am pleased to say that it was a great success. We had a full house; our head count came to 49 students. After covering the GAM basics we had Randy Duke from Phi Eta Sigma speak with us about upcoming events that will be happening in which GAM and Phi Eta Sigma will be a part of. In the PE segment of the meeting we had as our guest Bogumila Strzelczyk who spoke about the importance of building a network.

Thanks to all that attended!

Editor's Note: We also had two additional VIPs attend our first meeting: the new dean of student affairs John F. Agnelli, III and the director of alumni relations Joe Fortine.
